overview

Another
traditional skill is to take a concept or design through to
build. We can produce 2D or 3D visuals of a proposal for the
exterior or interior of your building, room, garden etc. and
then actually construct the design using physical materials
and good old-fashioned manual labour!
Case Study 1
The
Boat House - Clarence Pier, Southsea.
The client had a concept for a new business, which was selling
unusual gifts, cards and decorative objects. The client was
clear in her mind what she wanted with regards to style and
a clean up market look. Our job was to come up with a logo which
would be in keeping with the products and the surrounding area
(a sea front). She had an idea on colours which was very similar
to our own colouring so we knew she was on to a good thing!
I
found a piece of artwork (above-right) which we based our idea
around, it had the kind of colouring and clean look we wanted
and from here we worked some ideas into a simple yet powerful
logo.
This logo
also incorporates the name which lent itself very nicely to
a large 6' x 6' stamp we later made. The elements in the logo
were also capable of being broken down so that it could be displayed
in a horizontal format, for signage along the shop front for
example.
The
exterior design was developed in conjunction with the logo so
that a house style was born and the customers would learn to
appreciate a proper corporate identity. We believe this is one
of the major advantages to using a business like 2fish, where
a complete idea can be worked through into all the formats and
areas required.
These images show some initial 3D visualisation mock ups, the
designs were adjusted at the request of the client and the final
result clearly resembles the logo. The colouring matches the
original artwork and the client was very pleased.
Using an
in-house builder we constructed a solid timber framework to
which a timber fascia was added. All materials where properly
treated in our workshop and the final structure was painted,
within the tight deadlines set by the client.
The interior
design also took on the style of the outside and the whole project
was a complete design success.
The project
then carried on into a website www.theboathouse.uk.com
where examples of the interior can also be seen. You will notice
that the house style is evident on the website, which again
emphasizes the advantages of using a production company which
has all the facilities under ONE roof!
